Waves Breaking Over Barriers: The God's Way Prophecy

Updated: Jul 2

It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way. (1 Chronicles 15:13 AMPC)

Israel desired to have the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem. However, when they tried to retrieve it, they placed it on a cart instead of having the Levites carry it on poles. They didn’t worship God in the way He had shown them, and because of that, one man died when the Lord “broke out” against them. God is getting ready to "break out" once more.

The Lord sent a dream showing the coastline of San Francisco. As I hovered over the waters, waves began crashing over the land. Thus saith the Lord:

  1. “You need to turn your back on churches under the influence of Jezebel.”

  2. “The waves south of San Francisco will break over the barriers in August 2020.”

  3. There will be little loss of life, for this is a warning of what is to come.

I don’t mind telling you that when I received this word from God, it was a bit challenging to deliver. In the Bible, many prophets spoke words that didn’t come true for many years. God said this would happen NEXT MONTH! He said, “When the waves break over those barriers, it is a confirming sign.” I sought Him and asked why San Francisco? What exactly does this mean?

San means Saint, and the name Francisco means Francis. The city was named after Saint Francis.

In the 13th century, Jesus appeared to Francis of Assisi and said, “Francis, Francis, go and repair My house which, as you can see, is falling into ruins.” Francis assumed that this meant that he needed to physically repair the church where he was praying.

Enthusiastic about the commission, Francis sold cloth from his father's store and gave the money to the priest for this purpose. The priest refused to accept the “ill-gotten gains,” and Francis’ father took him to court because of the theft of his possessions, and as a result, Francis was destitute for many years.

Our Heavenly Father is tired of us selling what belongs to Him. Churches have been operating according to the ways of the world, and now God is sending a correction.

When the waves break over the barriers, this is a sign to confirm that the spirit that is not from Him has infiltrated churches. He expects us to turn our backs on churches that are selling what rightfully belongs to Him unless we want to be caught in the judgment coming from Heaven.

Our time is up. God is saying the consequences are right on the horizon. A wave breaking over the barriers was the sign to look for, and it came true! But we will get to that in a minute.

The Lord said that this first correction will be gentle. There should be little to no loss of life. However, should we not turn back to His ways, the signs which follow will be increasingly severe. Remember the warning God has given us:

I then heard another voice from heaven saying, Come out from her, my people, so that you may not share in her sins, neither participate in her plagues. (Revelation 18:4 AMPC)

In the future, be ready to flee when God sends a warning of impending judgment. As we should do with any prophecy, let’s look to God’s word to confirm that it is according to His ways.

The Church and the World

Charging for things in the church was introduced and has increased greatly over the last 50 years. For most of us, it’s the only way we’ve seen the church operate. People have been so indoctrinated by a church culture, that requires prior payment for the things of God, that many just accept it as God’s way of doing things. However, just because the majority do things a certain way doesn’t make it right. The only true measure of what is right is considering how it stands up against the word of God. The truth has never been about following the majority. In fact, the Bible says:

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. (Matthew 7:13 BSB)

Blindly following what the majority is doing is never a good idea! Many Christians will argue that songwriters, authors, teachers, ministers, etc. deserve payment for their time. It is important to note that we don’t disagree with that, for the Bible states:

“You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The labourer deserves his wages.” (1 Timothy 5:18 ESV)

This verse refers to those in ministry. “The laborer deserves his wages” means they should be compensated from what comes into the ministry. However, we shouldn’t operate under the world’s business model, but rather under God’s biblical model. He has a different way of receiving payment for His workers.

Most of us are familiar with Matthew 10:8 where Jesus commands His disciples, “freely you’ve received – freely give.” Getting something for free is appealing to everyone. The ESV translates it very clearly:

And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay. (Matthew 10:7-8 ESV)

Jesus sent the disciples out to minister to people. This included healing, teaching, and deliverance from spiritual bondage. He is very specific, telling them just as you received all of this from Me at no cost (without paying), likewise, you are to freely give to others, without charging. But why does God want all ministries to be free?

1. God wants everyone to receive what He sends.

Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1 ESV)

These are spiritual items, the Holy Spirit is the living water, the Gospel is the milk of the Word etc. Jesus invested all that He had, He endured torture and crucifixion, giving us salvation, the most valuable gift, for free. Likewise, every aspect of God’s Kingdom should also be free, meaning you can access it without money, as it is without price.

Getting something for free sounds great, and it is. But that doesn’t mean you can take and take from those working for God without doing your part. There is another half to the “freely give” principle.

Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support]. Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.
For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:6-8 ESV)

This is the primary aspect of reaping and sowing. When you receive from God through someone, whether it be a teaching or prayer, you should give back what it is worth to you because whatever you give to acknowledge God, He will move in your life. If you only use your substances to satisfy your earthly desires, then God will not move into your life; instead of getting blessed by God, you will receive destruction.

2. The church is to be set apart from the world

In the Book of John, Jesus mentions that we are “in this world but not of it.” In other words, God’s people don’t operate under the same principles as the world system but rather, the ways of God’s Kingdom. Unfortunately, rather than being a point of difference and a testimony to a fallen world, the church has, in many places, embraced the world’s business model for finances rather than God’s ways. The business model of the world is that you pay for your goods upfront.

  • When you go shopping, you pay first before taking the goods.

  • If you want a job done, you must first agree on the price before proceeding with the work.

That’s normal business. God’s system is the opposite. Those in ministry sow, then they reap from what they’ve sown. Products are produced by stepping out in faith, trusting that God has told you to do this and He will provide. There is no charge, no agreed price, suggested donation, no obligation, or debt. Then, the person receiving the ministry gives back in response, whatever God puts on their heart to give.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion. (2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV)
(Paul says) If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? (1 Corinthians 9:11 ESV)

In the Kingdom of God, you sow before you reap. Not the other way around. When you receive a message, a prayer, teachings in books, those are the “instructions for the seeds. You still have to “sow” into what you have received.

For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:17 NKJV)

Peddling comes from the Greek word kapéleuó, which means “to make a trade of.” It is commonly used to mean “to trade in, deal in for purposes of gain.” In two of the most used resources, we find additional information about this word:

Thayer’s New Testament Greek Lexicon: to be a retailer, to peddle. To make money by selling anything, to do a thing for base gain e.g., an inn-keeper, wine merchant, a petty retailer, a huckster.

Helps New Testament Word Studies: to act as an unscrupulous merchant ie, a huckster who profits by peddling the word of God. Of people marketing the ministry for personal gain.

The word peddle means ‘to make a trade:’ I will give you something IF you give me something in exchange. Can you see how far removed this is from the command of Jesus to “freely give?” Any and all ministries for the Lord, including conferences, music downloads, books, videos, and most importantly, prayer, cannot have an advanced price tag to pay before the ministry is given. Why? Because then it is no longer ministry, but rather commerce, trade, employment or entertainment. What a difference there would be in the world if the church were obedient in this area!

Most people have heard the phrase “the church just wants all your money.” Unfortunately, there’s a lot of truth in this, since the church has been guilty of operating more like a business than a ministry. How does God feel about this?

And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:12-13 ESV)

The account of Jesus in the temple is the most well-known record of Jesus becoming angry in the Bible. It occurred near the end of His ministry, and it was clear He didn’t want His Father’s house to be associated with money dealings or mammon. As recorded in John, Jesus states:

To those selling doves He said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn My Father’s house into a marketplace!” (John 2:16 ESV)

The word “marketplace” is from the Greek word emporion. This means a trading place or market-house. Jesus is clear: He does not want the world’s system of commerce operating in his church.

During COVID-19, churches began live-streaming services over YouTube, including some services with worship. YouTube algorithms began shutting down services because they were violating broadcasting rights by singing copyrighted Christian songs live on YouTube. How wrong is that! We cannot sing a song to worship God because we haven’t paid for it!!

In Acts 8 we see what the Apostles thought about buying and selling what belongs to God:

Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John. Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 8:14,17-19 ESV)

Simon offered money up front to receive a gift of imparting the Holy Spirit. On the outside, this kind of looks okay. Simon is following the apostles around; he seems to want to learn God’s ways, and the Bible does say “eagerly desire spiritual gifts.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)

If Simon asked this of the church today, I wonder what the response would be? It isn’t a stretch of the imagination to think many ministries may say, “Okay, Simon, you’re giving a faith offering (or sowing a faith seed) so we’ll lay hands on you!” How many churches say, “Sow a seed of such and such amount to receive a gift from God?” But look at Peter’s response:

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money! You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. (Acts 8:20-21 ESV)

Simon’s sin here was not charging for the things of God. He’s on the opposite side of the transaction! His sin was that he intended to pay for it, much like commerce. Immediately, Peter corrected Simon and warned him there would be consequences if he continued in that mindset, and that he needed to repent. The Old Testament provides a precedent for this.

Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean upon the LORD, saying, “Is not the LORD among us? No disaster can come upon us.” Therefore, because of you, Zion will be ploughed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, and the temple mount a wooded ridge. (Micah 3:11-12 BSB)

The leaders at every level, from teachers to prophets, are charging for the things of God. And they really think they aren’t doing anything wrong! I was right there with them when I wrote the first volumes in God’s BootCamp series. When God told me that I had to give away my books for free, I thought, “I own a publishing company, I know how to ‘make money’ from books. All the other church leaders are doing it, why can’t I”?

But I had heard from God, so I attempted to do it His way. I uploaded the books on Amazon and charged only what Amazon required for printing costs, which was about $3 a book. I didn’t have peace, so the next week I posted them on my website for free, with a small fee for shipping and handling. Still no peace. Finally, I listed them for free, including shipping.

The next day, I received $1000 into my paypal account from a woman. Who said, “The book, Why Doesn’t God Speak to Me? answered every question I had about God. Thank you for your faithfulness.”

This revelation wasn’t just for me, or only for THIS ministry. Two mega-Church leaders on TV heard the same thing.

  • One said, “I know God’s word says ‘Freely receive, freely give,’ but we have a $10,000 light bill to pay, so buy these books.”

  • Another said, “Prophet so-and-so has heard from God that we need to give books away for free. So every Friday we will give away one book for free.”

Both heard God say to stop selling books, but neither was willing to give them away for free. I know they probably had tens of thousands invested in printing their books, and shipping would have cost them a few dollars for every book, but God provides when we obey Him.

Verse 11 of Micah said “Her priests teach for a price.” The word translated as price comes from the Hebrew word mechir (mekkeer): which means “price, hire.” The same word is used in this verse:

Also Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and Keveh; the king’s merchants bought them in Keveh at the current price. (1 Kings 10:28 NKJV)

That same Hebrew word mechir is used here for buying horses. Obviously, in buying horses, a commercial trade is taking place. This same word/description is applied to the priests. They are guilty of operating just like the world. Mechir is used again here:

“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1 ESV)

God lays it out here that His system is without “price.” Yet Israel, like so many of today’s churches, had disregarded God’s way and taken on the world’s way. There was grace for a season, but God warned Israel very clearly that judgment and disaster were on the way, and now He has warned the Body of Christ.

Fulfillment of the Prophecy

Israel had hundreds of prophecies about the coming Messiah, yet the majority of God’s people missed it when Jesus appeared as a humble Lamb instead of the conquering Lion of Judah. When a prophecy is given, we should look to the Holy Spirit to see if it has been fulfilled and how it comes to pass. If we become too focused on our own ideas of how it will come to pass, we may miss what God is doing and wind up on the wrong path!

The specifics of this prophecy:

  1. Time: one month later, August 2020.

  2. Location: south of San Francisco.

  3. Event: waves from the ocean break over barriers.

  4. Outcome: little loss of life.

Each one of these has been fulfilled!

  1. The Time

This prophecy has been fulfilled, but not in the way we thought it would be. The Gulf of Mexico had a historic event in August: two hurricanes were heading into the Gulf at the same time! Because this was not in the immediate San Francisco area in the state of California, I didn’t even look at these events until a few people messaged me about them. Once I began looking at the prophecy with fresh eyes, I was amazed by what God was saying!

This is a very important lesson. When God tells us what will happen, often He doesn’t give specifics. This is why much of Israel didn’t recognize Jesus as the Messiah, though there were over a hundred prophecies about Him. The Book of Revelation has many prophecies about our future. I expect many of them to be fulfilled in this lifetime. We must keep an open mind. They may not come to pass the way we think they will!

  1. The Location

Waves will break over the barriers south of San Francisco in August: a sign of the judgment to come.

  • There is a San Francisco in the state of Texas: more of a ghost town, really. Here is where Google puts San Francisco, TX - San Francisco, CA - Cameron, LA

ree

Cameron is south of both cities that hold the name San Francisco. Two major storms headed for the Gulf of Mexico at the same time. An event like this has never happened in recorded history. Their approach was noted on the first day devout Hebrews began celebrating the Feast of Trumpets: August 21, 2020.

  1. Event

What barriers were broken in August? Marco and Laura became the 6th and 7th named storms to hit the Continental US. The metaphorical meaning of these facts are:

  • Marco - from Mars: the god of war. Also mas, meaning man.

  • 6th storm - six is the number of man, storm is a movement or battle in the spirit

  • Laura - from “laurel” meaning victor or victory.

  • 7th - seven is God’s perfection and completion in the physical

Marco represents the leaders of God's church: men and women guiding the battle against the enemy. Laura is God’s perfection upon this Earth, which will usher in His victory. This is a record-breaking event of the earliest 7th storm in a season in recorded history.

For a while, the forecast cones of Marco and what would become Hurricane Laura crossed, something meteorologists at weather.com couldn't remember happening before.

Marco (man) was hit by a strong wind (the move in the spirit) shortly after reaching full hurricane status, then dwindled and died down to almost nothing before coming to shore on the 24th of August. Many forecasters think it was affected by Laura (God’s plan for victory)! When Marco landed, it brought mostly rain. The Holy Spirit is depicted as Rain upon men…

While Marco weakened, Laura got stronger as it came toward land, rising in record-breaking speed to a Category 4 - four is the number of God’s creative works. It came to shore in Cameron, Louisiana, on the 27th: three days after Marco. Three is the number of perfection and completion in the Spirit. This created a swath of storm surge affecting Texas as well. An article from a local newspaper, the Daily Advertiser reads:

A tremendous wall of seawater taller than 17 feet that moved ashore with Hurricane Laura, sweeping some Cameron Parish homes off their foundations, appears to be one of the highest storm surges ever recorded in Louisiana.

Hal Needham, who was on the ground doing field surveys after Laura, said his research shows a surge of about 18.9 feet at Rutherford Beach in Cameron Parish.

“It’s historic,” Needham said. “It’s a tremendous amount of water that will really be unbelievably destructive, because not only are you putting almost 19 feet of salt water above normal, but it’s usually moving very fast so it can destroy houses or really anything in its way.”

The waves literally did break over the barriers, both physical and metaphorical!

  1. Outcome

Here is what the National Weather Service said about the storm on Twitter: An “unsurvivable storm surge” was predicted. The surge was not as bad as forecasted. As promised in the message He sent, God mitigated the waves so the loss of life was lessened. Even though this storm has broken many records, the loss of life has not been as high as other hurricanes.

Despite the diminished surge, “Laura goes into the history books as one of the most brutal hurricanes of all time…” reported the Tallahassee Democrat paper. Forty-one people died from this incident in the US. Although tragic, this is a lot less than it could have been for an event of this size.

Officials said if Laura had made landfall slightly further to the east or west there could have been a much larger loss of life, citing the Galveston hurricane of 1900 that had a smaller 16 foot surge in which 6000 died.

Hal Needham said “it was a destructive surge, the silver lining here is that it happened in a more rural area.” The wind was much greater and stronger than any storm in the last 100 years. According to CNBC news:

The ferocious Category 4 monster roared ashore with sustained 150 mph winds at 1 a.m. local time.

Hours after landfall, Laura was still a Category 2 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph.

The wind represents the Holy Spirit. Air is the spirit realm, a strong wind is a strong move in the spirit. 150 is the end of judgment by water, this is why the winds were high and the water wasn’t as bad as forecasted. 110 is a generation and operating in your calling. In other words, God is bringing correction through the spirit to a generation that is operating in its official calling.

This landfall was nearest to Cameron then headed straight toward the city of Lake Charles, remaining at a Category 2 hurricane, causing immense damage.

  • Cameron - crooked nose: nose is discernment

  • Lake - a reservoir in the spirit

  • Charles - meaning man, army, and warrior

ree

Laura was “catastrophic” for Lake Charles. There is a fierce spiritual battle coming toward the army of God who have not used wise discernment about His ways. Many died from trees falling due to the high winds. The top of the 105-year-old South's Defenders Monument outside of a courthouse in downtown Lake Charles was knocked off its base.

  • Trees - leaders

    • “South’s Defenders” were Confederates, rebelling against laws that were passed after they had been made rich through slavery. They didn’t want to free slaves.

God’s generals and the fathers of the faith, especially those who have grown rich by rebelling against God’s ways, have not used discernment to turn back from selling what doesn’t belong to them. Because they refuse to turn back to God, they will be removed from their positions, just as the statue was. Some people may also be damaged by their removal. You need to move far away from the leaders not operating under the principles of Matthew 10:8-10 to avoid being damaged when they fall!

ree

The path of this storm proves this is what God is saying: it traveled right through the Bible Belt of America.

God wants to get the attention of His children: He sent a record-breaking storm right through the area of this nation ascribed to His Word! The body of Christ needs to cinch down the Belt of Truth about who God is and what He expects of us. It takes faith and humility to let go and do it God’s way. Church and the worship industry have a lot invested in their “products.” Are they willing to do things God’s way? Or will they insist that they are not doing anything wrong?

If your finances come under attack, consider what you are attached to. Do you need to stop supporting those who are selling what belongs to God?
